A Bathroom Immersed in Nature

Before

This home is located on a gorgeous lake and surrounded by trees and greenery. The existing master bath was very dated, with glass block tile in the shower, the dated ceramic tile flooring and the large whirlpool tub. These clients wanted a fresh, light and airy look, and our description to carry us through the renovation was “clean and crisp”.

The overall layout of the bathroom was good, so we kept all the fixtures in their existing places. The problem was, the wife wanted something a little glamorous along with the clean and crisp. Although this home is on a lake, the look we were going for in this room was a little more refined, not as casual as some of the other spaces.

After

Removing the large whirlpool tub and replacing it with a stand-alone soaker tub was the first order of business. Once that piece was determined, we proceeded to design the rest of the space, using marble on most of the hard surfaces – the hexagon on the floor and shower pan, and a large field rectangular marble in the shower, taking it all the way up the tall ceilings. This really gave the room the elegance the clients wanted. The custom double vanity was topped with Zodiaq quartz – stunning yet durable.
