A Minimalist’s Kitchen

This homeowner desired a beautiful but functional kitchen. She loves to cook and entertain with friends; however, the newly purchased 1970’s split level home was outdated and non-functional.

This project started by completely gutting the space. The goal was to create the kitchen of her dreams. Shaker style white cabinets were added to the space with a white quartz counter top. The island was designed in a darker wood tone with a waterfall edge counter-top. The backsplash was in two different finishes with one side of the kitchen in white glass subway tiles while the other side of the kitchen was in a stainless steel subway tile backsplash. Floating shelves were added above the sink to display some of her beautiful cookware and accessories. Crystal contemporary pendants were added above the island and a beautiful large pendant over the glass dining table. The table is anchored with a geometric design rug in bright reddish orange and gray tones. To complete the room, contemporary design panels were hung that flank each side of the sliding glass doors.
