A Serene & Elegant Master Bedroom

Before

This master bedroom was pretty much empty with the exception of a few pieces. We were starting from scratch and everything was to be replaced. The room is a large space and has a great coved ceiling. However, because of the lighter colours originally in the room, the ceiling blended in and went unnoticed. We decided that the chandelier and wallpaper in the niche would remain. These clients wanted a transitional master bedroom in neutral colours of grey and blue greys. She loves a glamorous and luxurious feel to a room.

After

We knew when we started this room that we wanted to do something special with the ceiling. I designed the ceiling using the colours in the cream and grey reflecting the design of the window treatment fabric. The design was hand painted on the ceiling in beautiful metallic silvers. We selected a grey paint colour for the walls and the lower part of the ceiling, ensuring that the ivory patterned wallpaper would stand out. We selected a deep charcoal fabric for the upholstered bed, adding a great contrast to the ivory patterned wallpaper. We used soft, luxurious fabrics in creams, blue greys, and silver throughout the space in the upholstery and bedding. The use of textures and patterns in the ivory bedding really brought a simple but dimensional feel to the room. We selected a deep finish in the case goods that would again add contrast against the greys and ivory. Crystal, glass and mirrors are throughout the room in lighting, wall decor, nightstands and accessories to add that glamorous feel to the master bedroom that the client loved. We added just a touch of blue-grey in the artwork, accessories and chair fabric. The clients adore the room, raving about how beautiful and serene it feels.
