A Warm & Welcoming Guest Room

Before

These clients were moving from their previous home of 32 years, which was traditional reds and golds. In her new 3 story home, they were wanting clean lines and didn’t want to use anything from their previous home. We took their style and tried to give them the comfort of the traditional pieces, but with a more transitional look to match the architecture of the home. For the guest room, the clients requsted a queen size bed and small sitting area, This room has three small windows on one wall which determined the room layout. In addition, window privacy was a concern.

After

A 9ft. x 12ft. hand-carved, bold patterned wool rug was used for the foundation of this room, as well as the colour palette. A warm brown sleigh bed and dresser were used to simplify the space. To add personality, a custom faux finish in grey and turquoise was applied to the nightstands. A simple, chocolate duvet with cream and brown euro pillows, and turquoise and zebra print accent pillows were added to complete the bedding. A high back swivel chair in a colourful, tight flame stitch accompanied by an octagon distressed wood and iron end table, completed the seating area.
