An Inspiring and Functional Kitchen

Kitchen Renovation Project

Location: Ottawa, ON

Designer: Catherine Pulcine

Before

As we assessed the space, we found that the supporting wall was to be removed to allow for the opening up of the space. It was important to create a work from home space that didn’t look out of place in the kitchen.  The clients entertain often and having a bar area with a second sink was a big request.

The home is not overly large and to accommodate the requests took planning.

After

In meeting with the clients they were very descriptive in what their needs were for the whole main floor flow. We provide them with full service selections including all new furniture and window treatments as well as all cabinets and accessories.

We designed a cohesive space that incorporates every inch of useable space allowing for good traffic flow from the front door through to the backyard patio door.  Colour choices were made to accentuate the clients love of yellow, black and natural tones. Maintaining the existing hardwood flooring and refinishing with repairs to the areas where walls were removed allows for an easy flow from room to room.

The new dining furniture kept the feel going with wood tones that compliment the flooring with yellow fabrics and draperies. Soft shades provide privacy while allowing a soft glow.

The result is an up to date look that provides function and an inspiring space to live and work.
