A Calm & Beautiful Home Office

Before

This client had an old unusable home office that had become the dumping ground for everything in the house. Since it was rarely used, this was fine for a while, but when the client got a new job working from home it was clear the office needed to be redesigned.

After

Our goal was to transform the intense, cluttered space into a calm functional space to be used every day. We began by changing the dated rustic red paint colour to a soothing green/grey colour. We replaced the oversized desk with a sleek industrial styled L-shaped desk, with more storage and a rolling file cabinet. We also re-positioned the desk to face the windows for a more pleasing view. The classic desk chair was selected to coordinate with the espresso wood finish of the desk. The client fell in love with some prints of Pittsburgh (his hometown). We made the prints the focal point in the room. To complement the teal in the prints we chose a teal fabric for the mini cornice boards over the windows. The gray rug with a circular pattern and modern styled club chair were added to maintain the calm nature of the room. For a finishing touch, we added the metal wall art behind the desk. The client loves his new office!
