A Comfortable, Transitional Dining Room

Downsizing into “one room living” everyday use for table while allowing for more formal dining for 8 people without having to store leaves. Unique issue was table also had to fit into the elevator for delivery. The dining had to have comfortable seating for everyday use as well. Moving the light fixture to allow for the efficient movement around and for seating. Bar service area for entertaining. Window treatments need to be motorized for ease of use on large window also to provide sun protection.

To accommodate the movement of the light fixture to a more useful location a stretch ceiling was installed to allow for the placement of electrical along the concrete ceiling. It also provided for the wiring to the motorized shades for the window treatment. The placement of the table had to be determined to be certain of good traffic flow while in use, both for daily use and for entertaining. The cabinets extending from the kitchen area provided for a pullout bar cabinet along with quartz surface for serving. Additional cabinets provided storage and accessorized with glass doors for glassware and decorative items. The table was customized to fit the space and elevator.
