A Contemporary & Comfortable Living Room

Before

This space was traditional with little character and the clients wanted better lighting for the whole living room. Given concrete ceilings in the condo, moving or installing lighting was a challenge. The “Two Ladies” artwork owned by the clients was the inspirational element in the design. The brief was to create a contemporary space with comfortable seating and storage.

After

The introduction of a reflective stretch ceiling allows for the installation of low profile LED pot lights to highlight the fireplace with its full wall of dimensional tile. The use of tri-light lamps allows for controlled levels of light throughout the space. A contemporary sofa and chairs in grey tones, along with a luscious lipstick red leather chair brings the “Two Ladies” artwork into play. The pattern in the area rug pulls in the painting as well, a complete coincidence, but one not lost on the clients. A wall hung custom cabinet provides storage space as well as a beautiful focal point and division between the living and dining room.
