A Formal, Yet Relaxed Living Room

Before

This couple wanted a space to call their own. A getaway from the kid friendly zones in the rest of their beautiful home. They wanted their living room to be Hampton’s inspired, yet also flow with their mid-century teak furniture in the next room. I needed to work with were their piano, throw cushions and art.

After

The goal was to create a cozy sitting area for the adults in the family to chill out with a glass of wine or cup of tea at the end of the day.

The mid-century inspired sofa was chosen to set the tone for the room. Small scale accent chairs complete the conversation area while still enabling great traffic flow in the space.

A flat woven wool rug with a subtle pattern grounded the layout and added some softness. Lighting was added on a new side table and the buffet, giving the room a warm and welcoming vibe in the evening. They also enabled the room to be used for reading in the evening.

When the room was finished they felt immediately at home!
