Project Overview:

The catalyst for these clients wanting to renovate and decorate their home was their need for new sofas. They knew they required an update, however, they also wanted to renovate and they had the great foresight of knowing they had to have those done at the same time.

Design Solution:

After spending a lot of time getting to know our clients, it was determined that they primarily used this room for watching television and entertaining. Since we were removing the wall their TV was previously on, we moved it above the fireplace, creating a focal point in the room. We partnered with an audio-visual company to ensure all the correct wiring was done during the construction. For the furniture selection, since they share their home with a beautiful furry pup they wanted pieces that were easy to maintain. We chose two cognac leather sofas for maximum seating and comfort. The coffee table is uniquely made with reclaimed boat wood collected from old Chinese fishing vessels. It marries the two styles the homeowners wanted to combine; mid-century and farmhouse. Artwork and accessories were added to carry the colours from the open concept kitchen creating great flow from room to room.

What our client said:

The process of a designer suggesting furniture (all of it!) was an experience and one that we truly weren’t sure of at first. The detail that Natalie adds to this process to be sure that everything is exactly what we wanted, from comfort to style was fantastic. Needless to say we would highly recommend Natalie Cox to anyone who is thinking of doing a complete home renovation or one single room. You will be so happy you made the same decision we did. – Barb Bowie
