Project Overview:

In the client’s original kitchen, the design of the island was awkward, leading to inefficient use of space. The storage options were lacking, making it difficult to organize and access kitchen essentials. The existing flooring was different materials and at varying levels which caused a lack of cohesive space and a tripping hazard. The combination of design flaws resulted in a kitchen that lacked functionality and aesthetics.

Design Solution:

The redesign of the kitchen island allowed for beautiful views of the backyard and pool area. Updating the floors to the same level and materials eliminated the tripping hazard and expanded the usable space, seamlessly flowing the kitchen into the great room. Using luxury vinyl tile plank flooring proved to be a great choice, offering a dog-friendly environment that is also water-resistant, perfect for the poolside setting.

We tackled the storage issue by adding numerous drawers and making full use of the upper cabinetry, significantly enhancing the kitchen’s functionality. A cohesive colour palette was chosen to bring the entire room together.

What our client said:

The first night my partner and I cooked in our new kitchen we were so excited…it was the perfect blend of function and beauty. Thank you, CPI for transforming our space into something that suits our lifestyle. Catherine, the designer was adept at understanding our unique style; incorporating elements of old and new, and truly creating something special. The contractor and his team were incredibly professional, and we thank all the subcontractors for their attention to detail.
