Project Overview:

This client had recently moved into her daughter’s basement suite, which lacked a bathroom and sufficient privacy between the living area and bedroom. This layout adjustment was a priority for the client, who sought to enhance the functionality and privacy of the space.

Design Solution:

We successfully transformed the small storage space into a spacious and functional bathroom, complete with luxurious features such as a heated floor, walk-in shower, and grab bars for aging in place. The vanity provides ample storage for the client’s needs.

To address the privacy concerns in the open-concept space between the bedroom and living area, we constructed a partition wall with an opening. This design not only creates separation and privacy for the bedroom but also allows natural light to flow freely from the two windows, maintaining a bright and airy atmosphere.

What our client said:

I hired Marina to design a bathroom in my living space in the basement of the new house I share with my daughter. During the construction, I felt she really listened to my preferences in style and colour.

Her choices of colours and finishes were perfect and she also designed a way to make my bedroom area more private without blocking the light from the windows. The contractors she worked with were very professional; small problems during the process were worked out as a team. I am extremely pleased with the end result and will not hesitate to call on her for the next projects.
