Project Overview:

These clients came to us because they had three kids, and craved a more adult space in their home to relax and unwind after a busy day. They had a living room off the main entrance of their house that was underused for several years. They knew they wanted to do more in that space, but didn’t know where to start.

Design Solution:

During the home tour at the first consultation, they shared that they wanted to open their home up to more entertaining. Since the living room connects to the dining room and the front hall, the layout needed to accommodate traffic flow from both spaces. Their only other requirement was to include their existing piano and floral toss cushions.

They had a beautiful teak dining set and some art which they loved. We were inspired to use both as a jumping off point for the new room.

We chose a custom mid-century inspired sofa and two comfortable armchairs. Adding the rustic wood pieces created an inviting vibe that flows with the rest of their home. We added beautiful lamps with a bit of sparkle for reading and ambient light.

What our client said:

Once we decided that it was time to tackle our long-neglected spaces, we knew that we would be buying quite a bit of new furniture, but were nervous about getting the quality that we wanted, while ensuring that all the purchases worked together in our space. We had a basic idea of what we wanted for our rooms, but felt overwhelmed by the myriad of choices available. After our initial meeting with Natalie, we were totally convinced that she understood the style that we were looking for, even as we struggled to describe it. She listened to our ideas and came back with a plan that reflected our tastes perfectly.
