A Rustic Multi-Purpose Sunroom

Before

These clients came to us after they had already met with a contractor and architect to build an addition to the back of their house. The main reason for the new construction was to create a larger mudroom, a place to do homework, play board games and hang out. They hired us to help them ensure that the finishes and furniture blended with the rest of their beautiful house.

After

These clients love collecting antiques and have a modern farmhouse vibe in their home. We continued that feel by incorporating a rustic but modern, reclaimed wood table and bench. The chairs were from the client’s grandmother’s home and they were freshened up with paint and new fabric.

The warm brown porcelain tile was laid in a cobblestone pattern bringing the outdoors in. The homeowner made the barn door and beams, which blended beautifully with the new light fixture.

A cozy textured wicker chair was added for a nice place to read and have a cup of coffee. Last, but not least, a custom bench and hooks were added to one wall to serve as a drop zone for their three kids.

They adore their new space and they tell us that it’s always in use!
