A Simple & Elegant Dining Room

Before

In this client’s new home she chose to switch the living room with the dining room. The space that now became the dining room had very heavy window treatments, faux painted walls, chair rail and mouldings. Although it wasn’t a perfectly square room, the proportions of the space seemed to be almost asking for a round dining room table. A round dining room table became our main objective.

After

We removed the very heavy window treatments but kept with the chair rail and the mouldings. We chose to wallpaper above the chair rail with a beautiful neutral scroll paper with metallic accents. We selected a round dining table with a gray wood finish and grey upholstered chairs featuring a dramatically shaped back. We selected a credenza that has both a grey finish and a decorative scroll matching nicely to the wallpaper. We kept the drapery panels simple but lush with texture both with its raw silk look and its linen trim. We positioned the mirror opposite the windows to help brighten the room and to showcase the chandelier which with its strands of beads acts as jewelry adorning this intimate dining room.
