Project Overview:

When we met with these clients it was clear that there were some functional issues with the original kitchen design. In particular, the angled bar-height peninsula was awkward to use, taking up valuable space without serving a useful purpose. Storage was also a challenge. We decided to start fresh with new custom cabinetry to maximize storage space and create a seamless counter-height peninsula area.

Design Solution:

To bring a little punch and personality to the space, we used Benjamin Moore’s Van Courtland Blue on the base cabinets and around the fridge while keeping the rest of the colour palette neutral. We layered shades of white and soft grey in the upper cabinets, countertop, flooring, and backsplash to add the cool and calm effect the clients wanted. Custom cabinetry including four new banks of drawers provided the additional storage the client needed. Redesigning the peninsula to be squared off vs angled made it more functional for entertaining. It is now the perfect place for a charcuterie board!

What our client said:

If you are considering a remodel, we highly recommend working with Natalie and her CPI team. Her flexibility, helpfulness, and attentiveness to our style choices made all the difference, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Thanks again for the fantastic job! We will certainly return to Natalie for future projects.
