Project Overview:

This is the main sitting area in this client’s home, and it was in need of a complete overhaul. We moved the wall separating the living room and dining room, allowing us to center the fireplace and make it a focal point. The new stone adds instant charm and textur,e tying in all the colours of the home. New flooring throughout the entire house created a great backdrop for an entire new look.

Design Solution:

Once we centered the fireplace, the layout really started to come together. The room was a bit narrow, so we chose a loveseat in front of the window, paired with two simple but stylish accent chairs. The large marble coffee table is perfect for a cozy charcuterie spread on a relaxed night in. The homeowner has a fun collection of mementos, so we chose an open-sided bookcase to showcase them. To highlight their large window, we added elegant floral drapery panels. The result? A calm, textured sitting area that’s just right for a heart-to-heart with a good friend.
