Almonte is a former mill town in Lanark County, in the eastern region of Ontario. Formerly a separate municipality, it is a ward of the town of Mississippi Mills. Renowned for its well-maintained 19th-century architecture, the area’s rich history can be observed in many of its buildings and structures. In April of 2023, Almonte was recognized as the best small town in the Ottawa Area.

Almonte Old Town Hall – The Almonte Old Town Hall was originally built for town offices and council meetings, but was also home to the fire department, municipal library, and local jail cells. Almonte Farmer’s Market – The Almonte Farmer’s Market is a staple of the community. Its vendors sell fresh food and produce every Saturday. The market is also known for its fresh-cut flowers and beautiful arts and crafts.
