We begin with design—crafting detailed drawings, selecting materials, and curating craftsman-quality furnishings based on extensive conversations about your needs and desires. We then connect you with our trusted network of skilled trades and work alongside them to execute our shared vision.

During renovation projects, your designer is dedicated to helping you distill your goals and personal style. You will work closely to create a design that reflects the personalities and preferences of those who live in your home, then we manage the countless tasks and decisions while you get back to enjoying your life. Our decorating and styling services are also available to renovation clients for a truly turn-key, effortless experience.

This service includes:

  • Complimentary consultation in your home to determine your goals

  • The scope of work is confirmed and a flat-rate design service is collected

  • Discussion with all deciding members to ensure we are all working towards the same goal

  • Budget guidance

  • Site visit to take measurements and meet with the recommended contractor

  • CAD drawings and selections are made

  • Presentation and purchasing appointment

  • Order all selections and ensure they are on site when required

  • Scheduled site visits during the renovation

  • Final walkthrough with the homeowner and contractor

 

Our Process

Initial Call

Every project starts with an initial phone call with one of our designers. On this call, we discuss how you would like your home to feel and function and ensure that our process aligns with your goals.

Next, we schedule a complimentary in-home consultation at a time that works for all deciding household members.

We recommend all deciding members be involved from the beginning so that everyone’s input is taken into consideration. Your only homework before the meeting is to discuss what you would like to invest in your home.

In-Home Consultation

During our in-home consultation, we tour your home and discuss your current and ideal use of each room.

We review your wish list and budget and help you determine the scope of work you’re looking for.

Once the scope of work is confirmed, a flat rate design service fee is quoted. That fee is collected in full before work begins.

Next, we book a site visit with our trusted trades to take measurements and prepare for the design phase.

Design & Presentation Phase

During the design phase, your designer prepares plans and quotes, gathers samples, and creates renderings to present to you in the comfort of your own home.

At the presentation and purchasing appointment, we review the plans, samples, and complete pricing. After collecting deposits, we take care of ordering, receiving and preparing all items for delivery.

Renovation & Reveal

Throughout this phase, we conduct regular site visits to ensure your project is progressing as planned. At the end of your project, we schedule a walkthrough with yourselves and the contractor to see the project in its entirety.

Our Stittsville home was built thirty years ago in the style of that era and those before it. Since it was not configured to our specifications, bit by bit over the past 27 years, we have had to update it to suit our evolving needs.

From the start though, the kitchen was always too cramped for our growing family and our style of living. Removing the supporting wall between the kitchen and dining room – and all of its hidden plumbing – was a 25 year wish for us.

Catherine made wonderful suggestions not only with respect to the fixtures, colours, and appliances but also to added pieces (e.g. the replacement of a dated oak railing) that would make our kitchen function the way we needed it to.

She promised and delivered!

We came home to a perfectly designed kitchen, beautiful hardwood throughout the main floor (replacing ceramic tile, carpet, and laminate), clean modern trim and the look that we had envisioned.

We left our home in capable hands without any worries about them having total access to it during our absence. Catherine and her team kept us abreast of challenges and they were prompt with solutions and delivered what they had promised.
