A Sleek & Inviting Living Room

Before

This 25-year-old home was tired and outdated in its layout, as well as its furnishings. The goal was to create a modern new entertainment space with ample seating for a variety of guests, and enhanced ease of movement. Lighting was lacking and needed a boost. The biggest challenge to overcome was that the couple didn’t always agree on the items needed. The area rug was necessary to ground the open space, but it took some convincing for the clients to move forward with this decision.

After

The opening up of the space with the removal of the interior walls and the french doors creates a spacious area for both dining and casual conversation. A palette of soft greys and black, along with the light large-scale porcelain fireplace tiles, create a sleek, contemporary room. Pops of turquoise and red add interest. Ample seating with a four-seater sofa and chairs that can be moved into the conversation area were most welcome. The re-purposing of the pouf ottomans also contributed interesting extra perches for guests. The addition of the area rug brings it all together and was necessary to ground the space.

A Dream Room Winner!

A HUGE congratulations to our very own, Catherine Pulcine on becoming a Dream Room winner yet again! This living room was a winner out of 52 entries across North America in the living room category. Catherine’s ability to see the bigger picture and bring a project together so beautifully continues to amaze us. We are so proud to have such a talented Principal/Lead designer to inspire the rest of our team.
